CAJ Internship Opportunities
The Canadian Association of Journalists (CAJ) is now accepting applications for its 2023 Fall Internship Program. This internship will run from October to December 2023, with flexibility to the different hours requirements of different post-secondary internship programs across the country.
The ability to speak and write in both of Canada’s official languages will be considered a strong asset.
Selected candidates will work closely with CAJ board members, staff, other interns and volunteers on a series of projects. These could include:
● Contributing to the association’s communications and social media activities
● Undertaking public-interest advocacy research
● Working on the delivery of professional development initiatives
● Assisting with the launch of our annual awards program
● Working with the diversity survey team on the release of the 2023 annual survey results
This opportunity is open exclusively to post-secondary students who can use the internship program for academic credit.What you’ll receive as an intern:
● A $500 honorarium
● A free one-year CAJ membership, which gives you access to all of our professionaldevelopment and networking opportunities
● A CAJ membership card
● A guaranteed match with a mentor as part of our mentorship program

● Submit a copy of your CV and up to three examples of your writing. Please note: If you are interested in doing graphic design work or video, please submit examples of past work in these areas.
● A formal one-page letter of interest that explains:
a) Why are you interested in working with the CAJ?
b) What do you hope to learn from your internship?The Canadian Association of Journalists is a professional organization that serves to advance the interests of journalists from coast to coast to coast. The CAJ’s primary roles are public-interest advocacy work and professional development for its members.
c) What current CAJ projects are you most interested in working on?
