Logo Competition!

Design Criteria

There are two sets of design criteria for the logo:

  1. The logo should be circular in shape and resemble that of a traditional seal.
  2. The perimeter of the circular seal should embody text that reads “THOMPSON RIVERS UNIVERSITY LAW REVIEW EST. 2022” or “TRU LAW REVIEW EST. 2022”.
  3. The inner portion of the logo may incorporate the following:
    1. Imagery relating to Western Canada (i.e., B.C. & Alberta);
    2. Imagery relating to Kamloops; or
    3. Legal symbols.
  4. For reference, one could refer to the Stanford Law Review or the California Law Review logos for the style we are currently envisioning.

The second set of criteria is rigid and must be followed to ensure we are not encroaching on the TRU brand. This criteria has been specified by MarCom as follows:

  1. The TRU Logo cannot be involved;
  2. The design cannot look like the TRU logo; and
  3. The logo cannot use the shield or other elements from the logo.

The designs would be vector images, submitted in native AI Illustrator format and PDF format.

Prizes for the competition are:

  1. First place $300
  2. Second place $200
  3. Third place $100

All entries must be sent to Colleen Foucault (cfoucault@tru.ca) by midnight, November 10th, 2022.
